英國權威教育機構泰晤士高等教育（THE）今日（30日）公布2027年度世界大學排名，中國高等院校創下多項歷史性里程碑。
The UK's authoritative education body, Times Higher Education (THE), today (Sept 30) released its World University Rankings 2027, with Chinese higher education institutions setting multiple historic milestones.
THE首席全球事務官菲爾·巴蒂（Phil Baty）表示，是次排名反映學術力量正由西方向東方轉移，內地高校排名首次超越歐洲大陸所有高校；同時，美國躋身全球前200名的高校數量降至歷史新低，顯示全球高等教育版圖正出現結構性變化，邁向新一輪重塑期。
THE's Chief Global Affairs Officer, Phil Baty, said that the rankings reflect that academic power is shifting from West to East, with mainland universities surpassing all universities in continental Europe in the rankings for the first time; at the same time, the number of US universities in the global top 200 has fallen to a historic low, showing that the global higher education landscape is undergoing structural changes and entering a new period of reshaping.
THE世界大學排名2027涵蓋全球118個國家及地區共2,297所高等學府，較去年增加106所。
THE World University Rankings 2027 covers 2,297 higher education institutions across 118 countries and regions worldwide, an increase of 106 over last year.
排名採用17項經嚴謹校準的績效指標，歸納為五大領域，包括教學、研究環境、研究品質、國際視野，以及產業。
The rankings use 17 rigorously calibrated performance indicators, grouped into five areas, including Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook and Industry.
今年全球十強繼續由英美院校包辦，英國牛津大學連續11年位居榜首；美國麻省理工學院保持第二，美國普林斯頓大學維持世界第三，但前列20的歐美大學普遍呈下降趨勢，只有4間歐美高校排名上升，8間下跌，8間排名不變。
This year's global top ten continues to be dominated by UK and US institutions, with the University of Oxford in the UK ranking first for the 11th consecutive year; the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT)in the US remains second, and Princeton University in the US remains third in the world, but leading European and American universities in the top 20 generally show a downward trend, with only 4 European and American universities rising in the rankings, 8 falling, and 8 unchanged.
亞洲方面，本年度參與排名的高校數量首次突破1,000所，以內地為首區內多所高校名次普遍提升。
In Asia, the number of universities participating in the rankings this year exceeded 1,000 for the first time, and many universities in the region, led by the Chinese mainland, generally improved their positions.
清華、北大及新加坡國立大學繼續位列亞洲前三，其中清華上升1級至全球第十一，與十強僅一步之遙；北大第十三；新加坡國立大學上升2位至全球第十五，亦是THE排名首次出現三所亞洲高校同時躋身全球前15名。
Tsinghua, Peking University, and the National University of Singapore continue to rank among Asia's top three, with Tsinghua rising one place to 11th globally, just one step away from the top ten; Peking University is 13th; the National University of Singapore rose two places to 15th globally, also marking the first time in THE's rankings that three Asian universities have simultaneously entered the global top 15.
THE指出，清華與北大在教學與研究兩大指標表現優異，產業指標更取得滿分。
THE noted that Tsinghua and Peking University performed excellently in the two major indicators of Teaching and Research, and achieved full marks in the Industry indicator.

小提醒：
multiple作形容詞時只能置於名詞前（如multiple reasons），不能說the reasons are multiple（比較不自然）。
continental Europe在英式英語中常簡稱為the Continent，帶有「不列顛群島以外」的視角；書寫時continental通常小寫，但在特定語境中也可大寫為Continental Europe。
downward trend的反義詞為upward trend（上升趨勢）；常與show、reveal、reverse、buck（扭轉）等動詞搭配。
simultaneously常用於描述多項事件同時發生，在新聞報道和學術寫作中頻率很高；注意與concurrently（同時並存）和spontaneously（自發地）區分。
