香港特區政府撥款25億港元成立第三個InnoHK研發平台SEAM@InnoHK，下設八所聚焦可持續發展、能源、先進製造及材料的研發中心，並吸引三位諾貝爾獎得主參與，以對接國家「十五五」規劃，推動香港建設國際創科中心。

國家「十五五」規劃明確支持香港建設國際創科中心。香港積極對接科技強國戰略，匯聚海內外科研力量。

The nation's "15th Five-Year Plan" explicitly supports Hong Kong in building itself into an international hub for science and technology innovation. The city is now aligning with the national strategy of building a scientific and technological powerhouse, bringing together research strengths from both home and abroad.

特區政府創新科技署今年初公布第三個InnoHK創新香港研發平台SEAM@InnoHK資助結果，平台昨日舉行啟動禮，標誌創科旗艦即將投入運作；其中三間研發中心更分別獲化學及物理學諾貝爾獎得主加盟，體現香港作為國際高端人才集聚高地的優勢。

In early this year, the Innovation and Technology Commission announced the funding results for the third InnoHK innovation Hong Kong research platform, SEAM@InnoHK. The platform held its launch ceremony yesterday (Sept 1), marking that this flagship innovation and technology initiative is about to commence operations; moreover, three of its research centers have each attracted Nobel Laureates in Chemistry and Physics to join, demonstrating Hong Kong's advantage as a premier hub for gathering international high-caliber talent.

特區政府創新科技及工業局局長孫東表示，在InnoHK首兩個研究集群基礎上，政府再撥款約25億港元成立八間研發中心，組成第三個集群，把版圖拓展至可持續發展、能源、先進製造及材料四大範疇，並將聯同內地及海外約30家合作機構，開展涵蓋下一代半導體、可持續能源與創新材料、太空製造及先進製造技術等研究，呼應國家推動高端製造、培育戰略性新興產業及深化綠色轉型的部署。

Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, said that building on the first two research clusters of InnoHK, the government has allocated an additional approximately HK$2.5 billion to establish eight research centers, forming a third cluster that expands the scope to four major areas: sustainable development, energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials. This cluster will collaborate with around 30 partner institutions from the mainland and overseas to conduct research covering next-generation semiconductors, sustainable energy and innovative materials, space manufacturing, and advanced manufacturing technologies, in response to the nation's deployment to promote high-end manufacturing, cultivate strategic emerging industries, and deepen green transformation.

SEAM@InnoHK旗下八間研發中心在今年3月底獲批成立，分別由5所本地大學及中國科學院香港創新研究院主理，並與30多個國際及內地頂尖大學與科研機構深度合作，總資助額達25億港元。

The eight research centers under SEAM@InnoHK were approved for establishment at the end of March this year. They are managed by five local universities and the Hong Kong Institute of Science and Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and engage in in-depth collaboration with more than 30 leading international and mainland universities and research institutions, with total funding amounting to HK$2.5 billion.

目前，八間研發中心正積極籌備建立實驗室，將陸續投入運作，為香港創科生態注入新動力。

Currently, the eight research centers are preparing to set up their laboratories and will gradually commence operations, injecting new momentum into Hong Kong's innovation and technology ecosystem.

新的InnoHK平台更吸引諾貝爾獎級別的科研力量加盟，其中2016年諾貝爾化學獎得主費林加（Ben L. Feringa）參與能源與可持續發展功能材料研究中心；有「石墨烯之父」之稱的2010年諾貝爾物理學獎得主諾沃肖洛夫（Konstantin Novoselov）則出任異質集成與製造中心首席研究員；2014年諾貝爾物理學獎得主天野浩，會參與香港功率半導體芯片及應用研發中心，充分彰顯香港匯聚全球頂尖人才、促進跨地域協作及驅動科技創新的獨特優勢。

The new InnoHK platform has also attracted research capabilities of Nobel Prize caliber. Among them, Ben L. Feringa, the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, is participating in the Research Centre for Energy and Sustainable Development of Functional Materials; Konstantin Novoselov, known as the "father of graphene" and the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Physics, has been appointed as a principal investigator at the Centre for Heterogeneous Integration and Production (CHIP); and Hiroshi Amano, the 2014 Nobel Laureate in Physics, will participate in the Power Semiconductors and Applications Center (PowerSAC). These developments fully showcase Hong Kong's unique advantages in gathering top global talent, promoting cross-regional collaboration, and driving technological innovation.
