時事英豪｜看新聞學英文《QS留學城市榜港「大學排名」升至全球第六》

國際高等教育評級機構QS昨日（21日）最新公布的2027全球最佳留學城市排名，香港整體排名維持全球第十七，亞洲區則列第八。

According to the latest QS Best Student Cities 2027 released yesterday (July 21), Hong Kong's overall ranking remains 17th globally and 8th in Asia.

因應六項評分指標，香港在「大學排名」中上升一位至全球第六，於全球排名榜單中，已連續兩年成為亞洲進步最大的高等教育體系。

Among the six evaluation indicators, Hong Kong rose one place to 6th globally in university strength, and has been recognized as the most improved higher education system in Asia for two consecutive years in the global ranking table.

QS留學城市排名就全球150個城市進行評鑑，透過大學排名、僱主活動、學生評價、嚮往度、學生組成，以及可負擔性這六項指標評分。

The ranking evaluates 150 cities worldwide based on six indicators: University Rankings, Employer Activity, Student Voice, Desirability, Student Mix, and Affordability.

在2027整體排名中，首爾蟬聯榜首，東京與倫敦繼續保持第二及第三，墨爾本則上升至第四，而慕尼黑與悉尼則並列第五。

In the 2027 overall ranking, Seoul retained the top spot, while Tokyo and London maintained second and third places, respectively. Melbourne rose to fourth, with Munich and Sydney tied for fifth.

香港今年整體得分與去年相若，繼續保持全球第十七位，其中在「大學排名」指標中進一步升至全球第六。

Hong Kong's overall score this year remained similar to last year, keeping its global position at 17th. In the University Rankings indicator, it further advanced to 6th globally.

QS引述早前發布的QS世界大學排名2027榜單中，香港共有10所大學上榜，香港中文大學攀升至第十八，與保持在全球第十一的香港大學一同打入全球前二十；其餘多數上榜的本港大學排名亦有不同程度升幅，半數位居全球百強之內，印證香港專上教育優勢持續擴大，有助國際競爭力。

QS cited the earlier released ranking, in which 10 Hong Kong universities were listed. The Chinese University of Hong Kong climbed to 18th, joining the University of Hong Kong, which remained at 11th globally, in the world's top 20. Most other Hong Kong universities on the list also recorded varying degrees of improvement, with half of them placed within the global top 100—confirming that Hong Kong's advantage in post-secondary education continues to expand, bolstering its international competitiveness.

然而作為留學城市，香港在「可負擔性」、「嚮往度」及「學生組成」三項指標則有不同程度下滑，當中「可負擔性」依然為香港最大短板。

However, as a student city, Hong Kong saw declines to varying degrees in three indicators: Affordability, Desirability, and Student Mix, with Affordability remaining Hong Kong's biggest shortcoming.

QS分析指，香港上榜院校的國際學生年均學費約為18,900美元，為東亞留學城市中最高，加上香港住宿成本高昂，目前各大學提供宿位只有4.4萬個，但全日制學生卻有19.2萬人，若宿舍供應未能配合招生增長步伐，學生將被迫轉向昂貴的私人租賃市場，勢必影響該指標的評分表現。

QS analysis noted that the average annual tuition fee for international students at Hong Kong's listed institutions is approximately US$18,900, the highest among East Asian student cities. Coupled with Hong Kong's high accommodation costs, with universities currently providing only 44,000 hostel places while there are 192,000 full-time students, if hostel supply fails to keep pace with enrollment growth, students will be forced to turn to the expensive private rental market, which is bound to affect the city's performance in this indicator.
