In its first five-year plan consultation document, Hong Kong has underscored its commitment to establishing itself as an International Hub for High-calibre Talents, deepening the integration of scientific research with industry, and advancing its green transition.

在今日（24日）正式公布、聚焦各地大學於聯合國17項可持續發展目標（SDGs）表現的2026年度泰晤士高等教育（THE）可持續影響力評級中，香港共有5所大學打入全球百強榜單，以香港科技大學排名最高、位列全球第二十。

Today (June 24), the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings were officially released, which assess universities' performance against the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the global rankings, five Hong Kong universities secured places in the world's top 100, with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) ranking highest at 20th globally.

分項排名方面，嶺南大學和香港城市大學各自分別於「優質教育」和「產業、創新與基礎設施」勇奪全球第一，展示香港高校於教育、科技、人才一體化的深厚實力，以及對綠色轉型與促進社會可持續發展的熱切投入。In the sub-category rankings, Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong each claimed first place globally in "Quality Education" and "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure," respectively. These achievements underscore the robust capabilities of Hong Kong's higher education institutions in integrating education, technology, and talent development, as well as their strong dedication to green transformation and the advancement of social sustainability.

THE影響力評級以各大學於聯合國17項SDGs方面取得的進展為標準評估。對比去年，亞洲整體表現出眾，前十名中佔有五所，其中兩所來自馬來西亞。而在全部17個分項及總體排名中，亞洲高校合計上榜962所，亦佔總上榜校次逾五成，為上榜數量最多地區。

The THE Impact Ratings evaluate universities based on their progress toward the UN's 17 SDGs. Compared with the previous year, Asian institutions performed exceptionally well overall, with five securing places in the top ten, two of which are from Malaysia. Across all 17 individual SDG categories and the overall rankings, Asian universities appeared a total of 962 times, accounting for over half of all ranked appearances—the highest representation of any region.

香港方面，科大以全球第二十排名成為名次最高的香港學府，而隨着嶺大上升至第六十三位，加上香港理工大學、香港浸會大學和香港中文大學，共有5所大學位列百強，創下歷史佳績，體現各大學於人才培養的堅實基礎，同時印證本港在可持續發展方面的努力與貢獻。

For Hong Kong, HKUST's 20th-place ranking made it the highest-ranked university in the city. With Lingnan University rising to 63rd place, and joined by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a total of five Hong Kong universities made it into the top 100—a historic achievement. This reflects the solid foundation these institutions have built in talent cultivation and further attests to Hong Kong's efforts and contributions to sustainable development.
