美資的達美航空時隔8年重返香港市場，香港來往洛杉磯的直航6月8日重踏香港國際機場，以後每日固定在兩地各開出一班航機。

Delta Air Lines, a US-based carrier, has returned to the Hong Kong market after an eight-year hiatus. Its non-stop service between Hong Kong and Los Angeles (LA) resumedon June 8 at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), with one daily flight scheduled in each direction.

達美航空亞太區副總裁莫傑夫（Jeff Moomaw）解釋，香港是一個令人驚嘆的經濟引擎，一直保持穩定的增長，相信這勢頭將會持續，加上香港在貨運及商務旅行市場表現突出，是達美航空決定復飛香港的重要原因之一。

Jeff Moomaw, Delta's Vice President for Asia Pacific, explained that Hong Kong is a remarkable economic engine that has maintained steady growth, and the airline believes this momentum will continue. He added that Hong Kong's outstanding performance in both cargo and business travel markets was a key factor in Delta's decision to restart the route.

達美航空首班DL89航班於當地時間6月6日晚上11時05分由洛杉磯國際機場起飛，6月8日晨5時05分抵達香港，抵達香港國際機場時獲以航空界最高禮儀「水門禮」迎接。

The inaugural Delta flight DL89 departed Los Angeles International Airport at 11:05 pm local time on June 6 and arrived in Hong Kong at 5:05 a.m. yesterday. Upon arrival at HKIA, the aircraft was greeted with a water salute, the highest honor in aviation.

另一方面，DL88航班於6月8日晨9時25分從香港出發前往洛杉磯，達美航空、美國駐港澳總領事館、香港國際機場及洛杉磯會議及旅遊局的代表於離境閘口一同主持剪綵儀式，並歡送啟程離港的DL88航班。

Meanwhile, flight DL88 departed Hong Kong for LA at 9:25 am yesterday. Representatives from Delta Air Lines, the US Consulate General Hong Kong and Macao, HKIA, and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board jointly held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the departure gate to bid farewell to the outbound flight.

莫傑夫表示，新增的直航服務標誌着達美航空在亞太區的重要里程碑，體現達美航空對亞太區的長遠承諾。

Moomaw stated that the new non-stop service marks a significant milestone for Delta in the Asia-Pacific region and reflects the airline's long-term commitment to the region.

香港在國際旅遊、商業及物流方面一直扮演關鍵角色，其中香港貨運市場的產業規模龐大，他分享達美航空希望成為其中的重要參與者，而達美空中巴士A350-900具有20噸的貨運容量。

He noted that Hong Kong has long played a critical role in international travel, commerce, and logistics, and that its cargo market is particularly large in scale. Delta aims to become a key player in that sector, and its Airbus A350-900 aircraft offers a cargo capacity of 20 tons.

除貨運需求外，他認為商務旅行的需求亦有增長空間，又分享現時香港往來洛杉磯航班的預訂情況強勁，對服務香港市場充滿信心。

In addition to cargo demand, Moomaw believes there is room for growth in business travel. He shared that current booking volumes for the Hong Kong–LA route are strong, and the airline is highly confident in serving the Hong Kong market.

他強調，現階段會先確保現有航班順利，暫未有計劃增加香港出發的新航點，但亦會視乎將來的市場需求，再作其他決定。

He emphasized that for now, the priority is to ensure the smooth operation of existing flights, with no immediate plans to add new destinations from Hong Kong. However, future decisions will be based on market demand.
