On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the I Ching defines "nine" as the number of supreme yang, giving rise to the ancient custom of climbing to avoid disasters—traditionally, families would leave their homes to avoid misfortune, which has now transformed into the elegant autumn activity of enjoying chrysanthemums and hiking. Additionally, the Double Ninth Festival has evolved into a cultural embodiment of filial piety and longevity.
