CHINESE STORIES explores the harmony of three teachings—Decoding a millennium of Chinese philosophical symphony

The latest themed series of CHINESE STORIESis now live, delving into the deep interweaving of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism—three pillars of traditional Chinese thought. Through the storytelling of Baize, the series paints a vivid picture of how these philosophies have coexisted and complemented one another across centuries.

Confucianism, founded by Confucius, is "not a religion in the conventional sense", but a school of thought that teaches wisdom for daily life and the moral path toward goodness.

Buddhism, introduced from India over 2,000 years ago, encourages individuals to "let go of selfish desires"in pursuit of inner peace. Chanting monks and temple rituals remain a familiar scene throughout China.

Taoism, rooted in the belief of "harmony with nature and unity of Heaven, Earth, and humanity", emphasizes living in accordance with the rhythm of the Dao. Taoist priests live simply, practicing Tai Chi and cultivating spiritual balance.

In Chinese society, all three traditions are often embraced in harmony, shaping both everyday life and festive rituals.

The entire series is available in three languageson the DotDotNews app.
